K&Q | SFTC Long Distance
The early start (7:15 am) is reserved only for those who think they need extra time to finish the half marathon (over 3 h 15 m). The early start is NOT intended for those who want to get started early for other reasons. Please respect this as the formal race is set to start at 8 am. If you choose to start early, then you MUST start at 7:15.
SFTC Long Distance Series | Sheep Trophies!
All finishers will receive a custom medal.
There will be a "Live" and "Virtual" 5K race option this year.
You can register online until the day of the race.
King/Queen race: SFTC members receive extra prereg. discount ($1 min.)
Course:
The Varmint ½ Marathon
A scenic 13.1 mile loop, with rolling hills, through Burkes Garden, Virginia. All miles will be marked. Water and PowerAde will be available throughout the course. Race begins at 8:00 a.m. and will run simultaneously with first half of the 5K race.

“SHEEP” will be awarded to the top 3 male and female overall finishers; the top male/female Masters; the top male/female Grandmasters; and the top 3 male and female finishers in the following age groups: 14 & under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65 -69, 70+.
5K- 3.1 Miles
A scenic up and back course, with rolling hills. Splits, water stations are provided. Race begins at 8:00 a.m. and will begin simultaneously with “The Varmint”, with a turn-around point.
5K – 3.1 miles
“SHEEP” will be awarded to the top male and female overall finisher. Trophies will be awarded in the following age groups:
14 & under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65 +
