The Banquet will be held Jan. 20,
2001 at the BMS skybox. The skybox rate has changed to $1000. A trade
for the skybox use was arranged. SFTC will put on the Racefest 5K free
for the use of the skybox. This is a 1 year arrangement
Equipment use: It was voted to give
sole and absolute authority to the race equipment director on
equipment rentals
1st Night 5K: The race was given
high praise in all aspects: course monitoring, registration, speed of
results, etc. SFTC won the community group award
Trophies: Race directors needing
trophies contact Tandy Fleming. Extra trophies from previous races are
available
Revenue Raising (Spring): It was
voted to give up the BMS concession stand and work with Science Hill
CC in a souvenir booth instead
Frank Kibler: The Creeper Marathon
will be March 11, 2001. It will be a no frills race and there has been
high interest shown. Frank will contact King College regarding an
April 2001 race
A letter will be sent to all race
directors about SFTC help in races: difference race help levels,
requirements, equipment available, etc
Phil Young: As chairman of the LDS,
he recommended a $15 entry fee for the series beginning 2001 to cover
the cost of sweat shirts. This was approved

The budget was presented and
discussed
Santa Special 1/2 Marathon has been
cancelled due to lack of a sponsor.
Rob Schoborg will investigate a
possible new route using the Creeper Trail
Women's Distance Festival: Tandy
will check on a possible new director. The VA hospital grounds might
be used instead of Steele Creek Park
Long Distance Series:
It was voted that due to the loss
of some longer races, participants in the LDS may count one outside
race. This outside race must be a 1/2 Marathon or longer and proof of
participation must be shown. This is retroactive to Jan. 1, 2001
It was voted that the Strawberry
Plains 1/2 Marathon will be a race in the LDS beginning in 2002. Oscar
will check with KTC.
Family Fun Day: Bob Townsend will
be in charge. It will be at Warriors Path State Park on Tues. July 24
2001 at 6:30pm. $150 is allotted in the budget for this event.
Kids Festival of Miles: David Fox
was not present. Oscar will check with David
Races:
Animal Chase 10K need more
volunteers
Racefest: SFTC will put it on in
exchange for the use of the skybox at the 2000 awards banquet
Firecracker July 4th: Oscar to
contact JCs about this race
YMCA June 2: Greeneville and
Bristol are all set. Erwin may have a race too
Cat in the Hat in Nov or Dec in
Johnson City. Terry and Rob are directors
Creeper Marathon: Frank Kibler gave
an oral and written report on the success of the race this year

Tandy Fleming sent word that First
Night wants us back
Oscar Wagner suggested that SFTC
pay a large old bill which should leave $2000 in the bank afterwards.
We have $500 coming from the speedway. Oscar said that he does not
plan to coordinate an Aug. BMS fundraiser unless the revenue looked
more promising
Bob Townsend has reserved a shelter
at Warriors Path State Park for the Thur. July 24 Family Fun Day. It
should be a nice recovery party after Crazy8s
Harriet has discovered that WDF is
not locked into July so we will try to combine it with Turkey Trot. We
are seeking a director
No number yet from certifier for
Animal. Debbie B. told Bob that they intend to do that one again next
year
Rob says that Cat-In-The-Hat wants
us in a major roll, mainly providing volunteers and $$$
