State of Franklin Track Club Press Release           11/20/2009

 

Michael Mansy and Molly Foster of Science Hill High School in Johnson City, Tennessee have been named this area's Outstanding High School Runners by the State of Franklin Track Club. They will be honored at the club's annual Awards Banquet at The Red Room in Blountville on Saturday, December 12th at 6:30 p.m. The annual event also honors the winners in the SFTC King & Queen of the Road Competition, the Long Distance Series, Kids' Festival of Miles and Outstanding SFTCers.

 

 Mansy, a senior, was first at the Western North Carolina Classic, Chattanooga Powerade Meet, Knoxville Cherokee Classic and was both Big 8 and Region 1 Champion for the second year in a row. Earlier this year, he won the Big 9 1600 m championship. Coached by Buddy Thomas, Mansy placed 5th at the Tennessee state championships.  

 

 Foster, a freshman, won the Twilight All Comers meet in Gray, TC/XC Championships in Kingsport, Bristol Cross, Trailblazer Invitational and was both Big 8 and Region 1 Champion.  Earlier this year as an 8th grader, she won the Big 9 3200 meter run. Coached by Jennifer Brockett, Foster finished third in the Tennessee state championships.

 

 Both were All Big 8 Conference, All Region and All State.
