I'm not a big fan of "change just for the heck of it" and like the good daughter I am, I blame my mother. When I was a kid my mother would move the furniture in our house on what seemed like a monthly basis. I would come home from school (high school, not college) and open my bedroom door and walk into the new den. Mom, where's my bedroom?! I never understood why she would want to do that!
But one type of change that I do understand and seek is a change that involves a challenge, a new adventure. Stepping into the role of your Social Director is definitely all that and I'm really excited for the opportunity.
I have started a list of possible events for 2012 but in an effort to keep the horse in front of the cart, I want to hear from you; what type of social events you would like to attend? Please send me your ideas and suggestions for SFTC social events. Also, if you would like to be part of a "Social Committee" (I know, that part isn't in the bylaws …. but I'm going to need help!! :) please mark your calendar for next Wednesday, January 18th from 6:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. for a planning meeting at Rush Street Neighborhood Grill (1229 E. Stone Drive, Kingsport). So that Rush Street will be prepared for us, please let me know if you would like to attend the planning meeting.
Thanks so much for your suggestions and help. See you next Wednesday!
