2018 Hall of Fame
David Fox
David Fox was the Kingsport Representative for 2003 – 2005 and he was the President for 2006. Fox won the outstanding volunteer award for 2000 and again the top volunteer award for 2005, 2006, and 2007. Along with his wife Brenda, he put on and led the SFTC summer track meets for several years. Fox was the original builder of the club’s web site beginning in 1996 and he was the first Webmaster from 1996 to 2012. Fox was a past leader of SFTC Training Program for Crazy 8’s & Eastman 10K for several years.
Fox is notable for being the Eastman Road Race Director for 18 years.
Fox built the original Runscore website (for the developer of Runscore – race timing software used nationally) and managed it for almost 20 years. He helped to beta-test the first Windows-compatible version of Runscore. Fox trained several club members on how to use the Runscore system.
Fox also built and supports the StateRunningRecords.com website.
Fox was one of the club leaders (along with Rob Schoborg and Tandy Fleming) in establishing the race management and rental structure, which has become the major source of SFTC revenue. He was also one of the leaders in instituting the volunteer point system, which greatly increased participation at Board Meetings and creating a pool of volunteers to assist with race management.
